WHO WE ARE
T.SQUAREARCHITECTS are based in Thessaloniki, founded in April 2006 by Elena Siti (MA Architecture Royal College of Art, London MA Museology AUTH), Fenia Douka (Architect AUTH) and Christina Alexopoulou (Architect AUTH). The practice is driven by a deep interest in creating new forms of behavior in space, resulting in new experiences.
This is reflected in their efforts to explore the experiential potential of space. Design is not restricted to what would conventionally be described as ‘architectural’ but extend to the adjacent fields of art and graphic design to give form, to organize and materialize an experience unique for every individual.
The team has over the years accumulated substantial experience in architectural design, interior design, branding in architecture (Oxette, Loisir, Larooz, Sarafidis Zo –Ilektroniki Athinon, Rollini, La parfumeria, Kanellopoulos, Aslan, Doca, Caravel travel, I.E.K AKMI), hotel design (Ekies all senses resort, hotel Dione, hotel in Sani, Aspida hotel, Ilianna hotel), design of exhibitions, museums (Museum at Petrokerasa, Dukas Exhibition), product and furniture design.
In other words, they operate through creating the necessary conditions for new behaviors in space, orchestrating diverse aspects which eventually result to a new personal experience of space for the end-user or client. Architecture is pursued as a creative act by experimenting with new forms of practice, utilizing sets of tools and concepts from adjacent disciplines, combining art and graphics to organize and materialize the experience. A whole new entity that is inspired by the client is tailor-made on her or his needs.
T.SQUAREARCHITECTS is a team of young architects that aims at pushing the boundaries of design, challenging established norms in order to produce purely original work. Intrinsic to their philosophy is a constant experimentation with materials, technology and geometry to lead their projects a step forward, creating and building new spatial experiences.
Actually, the relationship with the client evolves through constant interaction, placing her or his needs and desires as a foundation from which an architectural proposal emerges that awakens all the senses in everyday use. All possible design aspects are thoroughly examined in order to offer unique “moments” of an upgraded life quality. Their approach is anthropocentric, developed to create visual and spatial effects on the client/end-user.
A significant part of their efforts is dedicated to what has been termed as ‘brand architecture’. Brand architecture stems from an understanding of the function of the notion of ‘branding’ in contemporary culture and its strategic implementation in an architectural proposal. Inspired by the principles of marketing and the analysis of demographics and customer behavior, it uses sets of shared values as conceptual foundations in order to develop an architectural programme. In conjunction with the specifics of a brand’s aspirations towards an ‘architectural presence’, this process results to a unique architectural proposal, an amalgamation of the multitude of parameters that define each project. Thus, each project is generated after dealing with the translation of each client’s needs, leading to new architectural experiences and a refreshed concept of living.
